The Energy You Walk Into

You walk into energy every day. It’s in stores, airports, offices, concerts, your home, and even the woods when you’re alone. Every space holds a vibration that can lift you up or weigh you down. You can feel it before anyone says a word.
This is the place to learn how to manage your own energy, to stay balanced, clear, and strong no matter where you are. I’ll keep sharing real life examples like this so you can start noticing how energy shows up around you and how to handle it with awareness and ease.
Two Stores, Two Energies
I had this happen today. Two stores. Two completely different experiences. I was with my dog, which made the contrast even clearer. I’m always respectful when taking him places and only go into shops that are dog friendly, or so I thought.
The first store felt heavy the moment I stepped in. The space was cramped, racks pressed close, no room to breathe. The energy was dense and uneasy. About ten minutes in, the owner appeared and said sharply, “Who told you that you could have a dog in here?” This was after two employees had already been friendly and pet him.
In the past, that kind of tone might have triggered me to react. But I used one of the techniques I teach, which is to stay centered and not absorb someone else’s energy. I took a slow breath, grounded my feet, and chose not to match his mood. Instead of responding, I simply left the store.
Outside, I asked myself, “Now what?” I realized I could either carry that negativity with me or release it. I decided to move on, keeping the same calm, grounded state I started with. Then I went to a different store with my energy still intact, ready to experience something better.
The next store was light, open, and calm. Displays had room to walk around them . The staff was cheerful and rushed over to greet my dog, clearly happy to see him. The vibe was completely different, warm, friendly, and welcoming.
Same dog. Same me. Different energy.

Protecting Your Energy Before You Leave Home
You can protect yourself before you even step out the door. Here are three simple ways to do that.
1. Ground your energy. Take a moment to stand still, breathe deeply, and imagine roots growing from your feet into the earth. This anchors you in your own calm.
2. Set an intention. Say something clear like “Only positive and supportive energy is welcome in my field today.” This sets the tone for your day.
3. Visualize protection. Picture yourself surrounded by light. Choose a color that feels strong to you. This light filters out what’s not yours.
How to Notice Different Energies
You don’t have to be psychic to pick up on energy. You already feel it, but you may not have noticed how. Here are three ways to catch yourself observing it in real time.
1. Your body reacts first. Notice if you suddenly tense up, get goosebumps, or feel lighter. Your body reads the room faster than your mind does.
2. Your thoughts shift. Pay attention if your mood changes for no reason. That’s often your energy syncing or clashing with the space around you.
3. The vibe of the people. Watch facial expressions, tone, and pace. You can sense openness or defensiveness long before words confirm it.
Evaluating Your Own Energy
When you notice energy in others, check in with yourself too. Ask, “What am I feeling right now?” If you’re grounded and calm, you can read situations clearly. But if you’re tired, stressed, or distracted, your perception can get distorted.
Make it a habit to scan your own energy before engaging with someone else. Feel into your body. Are you centered or spinning? Calm or agitated? Knowing your baseline helps you tell what’s yours and what belongs to others.
Your Personal Energy Check-In
Use this quick checklist before responding to others, especially in emotional or tense moments.
Am I grounded and connected to my breath?
Do I feel centered in my body or scattered in my thoughts?
Is my heart open or am I feeling defensive?
Does this emotion belong to me or did I just absorb it from someone else?
Can I respond calmly, or do I need a pause to reset?
Have I visualized my protective light before continuing?
Avoid Getting Pulled Into Drama
Energy exchange happens fast. If you’re not aware, you can get caught in other people’s emotions or stories before realizing it.
When someone is venting, complaining, or acting defensive, don’t match their tone. Stay steady. Listen without absorbing. Picture their words bouncing off your protective light instead of soaking into you.
You can care without carrying. Compassion doesn’t mean joining their storm. It means holding your peace so they can find theirs if they choose to.
Clearing What You Pick Up
If you often feel tired or tense after being in public, it might not just be you. You’re picking up on the energy around you. A clearing can help release what you’ve absorbed and reset your field.
Every clearing I do includes an 16 to 20 page report that helps you understand over 30 different areas of yourself including your personal points of vulnerability and your purpose of incarnation. It’s a powerful way to learn how to start protecting your own light, no matter what energy you walk into.
Why Those Energies Matter
The energies you pick up may not belong to you. They can be emotions, thoughts, or stress left behind by others that attach to your field. Over time, these energies can create fatigue, confusion, or emotional heaviness that doesn’t make sense for your life.
Clearing removes what isn’t yours so your true energy can flow freely again. When your energy is clear, you make better decisions, attract higher experiences, and feel more like yourself.
If you’re ready to jumpstart your energetic vibe, book a clearing now to learn more about yourself. Often what is revealed in a clearing is new information for the recipient.
